Actress Nupur Alankar, who has worked in TV serials like Swaragini, Ish Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, Diya Aur Baati Hum, next Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo and Ghar's Lakshmi Daughters, is going through a financial crisis. His friend Renuka Shahane, in a Facebook post mentioned this, appealed to the people to help Nupur financially.
There is no money to treat a sick mother: Renuka wrote on Facebook, 'My dear friend and actress, Nupur Alankar is facing financial troubles these days because unfortunately all his money is stuck in PMC bank. Nupur is caring for her ailing mother, for whom she was earning money through acting and alternative therapy. His work came to a halt due to the lockdown.
Renuka further wrote, 'His mother needs to be admitted to the hospital. I am sharing his mother's account details. Please help as much as you can. Trust me that Nupur will not ask for help unless there is a need, but the situation has become such. Thank you.'
Renuka also shared account details with it. Nupur thanked Renuka on this post and called him Angel.
Money caught in PMC bank scam: Earlier last year, Nupur revealed in an interview that Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative (PMC) bank got their money stuck after several restrictions including transactions, because their accounts are with this bank.
Nupur had told in the conversation, 'Due to lack of money in the house and freezing bank accounts, I had no way left other than selling jewelery. Even I took 3000 thousand rupees from one of my fellow actors. Till now I have borrowed Rs 50,000 from friends.
On 24 September 2019, the Reserve Bank issued a ban by issuing notice to the PMC. The ban was imposed in view of financial irregularities of more than Rs 4,355 crore in the bank.
