Raveena Tandon first worked with Salman Khan in the film 'Pathar Ke Phool' (1991). It was also his debut film. After 29 years, the actress has revealed that she never wanted to become an actress. But perhaps this was his fate.
Raveena spoke about her first meeting with Salman and the beginning of her acting career in Kiran Juneja's online chat show 'Inside Talk'. According to her, she did some modeling projects with Ed Guru Prahlada Kakkar while she was in college.
Raveena says, “When I was doing an internship with Prahlada Kakkar, people told me what I was doing behind the camera. Why not openly act in front of the camera?” She adds, “I was a free-standing model in Prahlada's company Genesis. Whenever a model did not come to work, Prahlada used to say put on Raveena by wearing a costume.”
The story of first meeting Salman
Sharing an anecdote of her first meeting with Salman Khan, Raveena said that one day she was shooting in Bandra. Then he got a call from his friend Bunty, who was also a friend of Salman. Bunty asks Raveena if they are around? If you are, then come out and meet them.
When she came out to meet Bunty, she also appeared with him. Salman at that time G.P. Sippy was looking for a new girl for his new film 'Patthar Ke Phool' being produced. Raveena's friend advised Salman to see her.
She says, “I said yes to the film. Hearing this, my friends got excited. They started saying that after this you don't have to picture or speak, but you can do it.”
The friendship of both still continues
Salman and Raveena's friendship is still intact since the time of 'stone flower'. The two have worked together in films like 'Andaz Apna Apna' (1994) and 'Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaye' (2000). Raveena has also appeared in Salman's production reality show 'Nach Baliye 9' as a judge. In one episode, Salman himself came as a celebrity guest.
Sharing the experience of Salman special episode of 'Nach Baliye 9', Raveena said in an interview, “They told everyone that they have known me for 120 years. They have a comfort factor with us. On the sets we would talk constantly But when the episode was telecast, it was revealed that they had cut a huge chunk due to lack of time. Then we told each other why we talked so much. ”
