new Delhi. The Supreme Court will hear today the treatment of coronavirus patients and the methods of cremation of dead bodies in its deaths. Some media reports, as well as a letter from former law minister and lawyer Ashwani Kumar, alleged that the Corona infected were not being treated properly. Apart from this, the bodies of those who lost their lives in this epidemic are not being cremated in a dignified manner. The Supreme Court took note of these allegations on Thursday itself.
Ashwini Kumar had sent a letter to Chief Justice SA Bobde urging him to take the note. He had said in support of his claim that in Madhya Pradesh, the body of a patient was tied with chains. He had also cited hospitalization of patients in hospitals. The lawyer also mentioned in his letter the civil right to the funeral.
The Chief Justice has referred the case to a bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan. It also consists of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice MR Shah.
Note was also taken in case of laborers
Earlier, the Supreme Court had also taken note in the case of migrant laborers. The court ordered the central and state governments to send laborers to their homes in 15 days in this case.
Note taken in case of infection in shelter home in Chennai
The Supreme Court has also taken note of 35 children in a shelter home in Tamil Nadu getting corona infected and has sought a response from the state government. Also asked what steps she is taking to protect the children.
