Jalandhar. The Central Government has been conducting several awareness campaigns to prevent coronovirus. The public is being asked to follow masks and social distancing to avoid the epidemic. Police also took a crackdown on those who did not follow the rules. However, despite all this, people are careless. The Punjab government has recovered around Rs 1.25 crore in two months of the curfew.
The Center fixed a fine of Rs 200 for not wearing a mask on April 15 and Rs 100 for spitting at public places. Captain Amarinder Sarkar had on May 30 fixed a fine of Rs 500-500 for not wearing a mask and spitting at a public place and Rs 3,000 for not following social distancing. People paid 2.25 crore for not wearing masks and one crore for spitting.
Invoices deducted for not wearing the most masks
Dainik Bhaskar, in an analysis of the total invoices deducted, found that the maximum 50% of invoices were deducted for not wearing masks. At the same time, 21% is of spitting and the rest of social distancing and curfew violations. Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Bathinda and Patiala were fined 70% of the total amount of challan. All these invoices came under the rules laid down in the Disaster Management Act 2005.

Bathinda: 24 lakh fine was recovered from 7748 people
A total fine of Rs 24.28 lakh was imposed in Bathinda. In this, fine of 23 lakh 11 thousand 400 rupees was taken from 7748 people for not wearing masks and 1 lakh 8 thousand 300 rupees from 927 people for spitting.
Jalandhar: 20 lakhs for not wearing mask
A total fine of 21.5 lakh was imposed in Jalandhar. 20.45 lakh rupees were paid from 5445 people for not wearing masks, 282 to 30,600 rupees for spitting, 2 challans and a fine of 4000 were charged for non-compliance of social distancing. 1252 people were arrested for violating the curfew.
Ludhiana: Rs 50 Lakh Recovery
16 thousand 690 challans and a fine of 50 lakhs were imposed in the city. 12 lakh 95 thousand 300 rupees for not wearing masks, 2 lakh 22 thousand 500 rupees for spitting, 48 thousand thousand rupees from 16 people for violation of social distancing.
Patiala: Rs 12.43 lakh fine
The people of Patiala paid a fine of Rs 12 lakh 43 thousand 400 for not wearing a mask. A fine of 9500 was paid for spitting at public place. As many as 11 thousand 147 challans were made and 763 vehicles were also seized when the curfew broke.
