Mumbai. The largest figure of the dead has been revealed in Maharashtra today. During the last 24 hours, 67 corona infected have died here. By adding this, the total death toll has risen to 1135. This is the highest number of deaths in a state in the entire country in one day. Earlier on April 13, there were 56 deaths. At the same time, 1606 newly infected patients have also been reported here. With this, the total infected has reached 30,706. Today 524 patients have also recovered and reached their homes in the state. There are a total of 22,479 active cases left in the state.

Of the 67 dead, 41 were infected from Mumbai, 7 from Pune, 7 from Thane, 5 from Aurangabad, 3 from Jalgaon, 2 from Mira-Bhayander, one each from Nashik and Solapur. The dead include 47 men and 20 women. Of the 67 patients who died today, 38 are aged above 60, 25 are between 40 and 60 and 4 are under 40.

Recovery rate 22 percent

The recovery rate in Maharashtra has reached 22 percent. In Mumbai it is 25 percent. Every fourth patient in Mumbai is recovering. The state had 27,524 cases till May 14. After treatment, 6,059 of these patients recovered and went home. Among the suburbs adjoining Mumbai, Mira-Bhayandar has the best recovery rate of 60%. Only 11 out of 81 patients were cured in Ulhasnagar.

Country's first open hospital ready

The country's first open hospital at the MMRDA ground in Bandra, a western suburb of Mumbai, is ready. This 1008-bed open hospital has facilities for living, oxygen and testing of patients. The hospital will be treated for non-critical infections.

Wankhede Stadium to become Quarantine Center

The Mumbai Cricket Association is preparing the Wankhede Stadium as a quarantine center. MCA officers are going to approve after the letter from BMC. BMC Deputy Commissioner Harshad Kale said that a quarantine center of 800 beds will be built in the stadium. Oxygen and other medical facilities will be available here. The National Sports Club of India at Worli has already been made a quarantine center.

Police attack

On being asked to apply masks under the Antop Hill Police Station of Zone 4, the locals attacked 4 policemen. These include one PSI and two SRPF personnel. All have been admitted to the local Galaxy Hospital. A case has been registered against 17 accused in this case. Two accused, Wasim Ahmed (22) and Mo. Afzal Khan (32) has been arrested.

Ambulance will be made for 250 buses

To overcome the shortage of ambulances to take patients to hospitals and high risk contacts to quarantine centers, BMC has decided to make 250 buses as ambulances. These include 50 Best Buses and 200 Mini Buses. Half of these ambulances are ready.

Another policeman died of corona infection

The 57-year-old Mumbai Police officer died of a corona infection. Mumbai Police gave this information on Twitter. Madhukar Mane was on leave for 15 days. So far 10 policemen have died of infection in the state.
