Sangrur The sloganeering started with the first ray of sun on Saturday morning in the town of Bhavnigarh in Sangrur district. Here hundreds of laborers of the IAL thread factory took to the streets. It is alleged that the factory management has not paid him the salary of April. Due to this, at around 6:30 in the morning under the banner of the Land Acquisition Struggle Committee, these people came out of the colony of the factory located near Ballial. Fury marched to the factory gate when the police stopped there. After this, started picketing there.

Laborers Rajesh Kumar, Gaurav, Lavkush, MD Safiq, Aasif, Ramesh Kumar, who participated in the protest demonstration, said that in March, they used to do overtime for three hours in the morning and five hours in the evening. Despite the lockdown, the entire work is done in April, but despite this, the management has neither paid the overtime money for the month of March nor the salary of April. In this regard, Gurmukh Singh, District Secretary of the Land Acquisition Struggle Committee, which is leading the protest, says that due to the policies of the factory managers, the migrant laborers are forced to leave Punjab.
Meanwhile, DSP Satpal Sharma, who reached the spot, says that a meeting has been held between the workers' representatives and the mill managers. In this, it was said that the mill would start putting overtime money into the workers' accounts. Also said that any worker who wants to leave work should submit his resignation to HR department by Saturday, his money will be put in all accounts by Wednesday. The rest of April's salary matters are pending in court. After this, the protest from the workers ended.

Earlier, in Malarkotla town of the district too, the atmosphere had deteriorated at around 10:30 pm on May 11, when angry workers became uncontrollable with the management of Arihant Spinning Mill. Administrative officers and police forces rushed to the spot to overcome the situation. During this time the workers started throwing stones, SDM Vikramjit Singh Panthe, DSP Sumit Sood and ASI Jaswinder Singh were injured. Jaswinder Singh's arm broke. The police later lathi-charged and drove the protesters. Also, 400 unidentified persons have been booked for curfew violations in this regard.
