new Delhi. Domestic flights will start in the country from May 25 after 62 days. Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri told about this. He said – All airports and airline companies are being told to start operations from May 25. The Ministry will issue standings operating procedures separately for passenger movement.
International flights in the country are closed from 23 March and domestic flights from 25 March. The aviation ministry had in the past asked companies not to book tickets. The ban on flights will continue in the lockdown phase-4.
Why the decision to stop flights is important?
About 20 airports in the country get international flights. These airports can reach 80 cities from 55 countries. Many countries of the world are vulnerable to Corona. In such a situation it is necessary to continue the ban on international flights.
According to Statista, around 7 crore people traveled in international flights in India in 2019. At the same time, on an average 13 million passengers and 14 crore passengers travel in domestic flights every month in the country.
