Thousands of farmers are queuing up at 172 procurement centers in the district to get their wheat produce tulled with tractor-trolleys. Most of the procurement centers moved farmers to other procurement centers as storage space was exhausted. At Shubham Ware House situated on Agar Road, for 4 days, a large number of farmers have been in line to get the produce balanced. These are the farmers who reached the Shubham Ware House after 2 days in line at the procurement center of the silo as the silo crowd became more. After being in the line here for 4 days, on Wednesday, it told the procurement center that there is no space in the ware house, the messaging for the purchase has also expired. The farmers who had received the message till 9 May, only those farmers were losing their produce. The farmers, whose produce was refused to be weighed, protested outside the ware house and chased the road. Police reached the spot on information. Seeing the situation out of control, the police showed strictness. Some farmers have been injured in this.
Lathicharge is not fair
Bharat Singh Singh of the Indian Farmers Union said that farmers of the district have been engaged in hungry-thirsty lines at procurement centers to get the produce weighed for a week. In such a situation lathi-charge on farmers is not justified. The Sangh has demanded the Chief Minister to take action against the convicted policemen. After the incident, the officials visited the collector Ashish Singh. The collector assured that the yield of each farmer who came to sell the produce at the support price would be weighed.
Did not lathicharge farmers
SP Manoj Kumar Singh said that farmers have to wait day and night for the produce. Our heart goes out to the farmers. Sticks were not charged on the farmers. The farmers were removed only by beating sticks on the road.
