Srinagar. Three militants were arrested by security forces on Thursday in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir. All three had recently joined the terrorist organization. The interrogation of the captured terrorists continues. The Jammu and Kashmir police and the army arrested them by conducting a joint operation based on intelligence. According to sources, the three terrorists are members of the Lashkar-e-Taiba. However, the Army or Jammu and Kashmir Police are yet to confirm it.
Earlier, BSF patrols attacked 37th battalion personnel on Wednesday in Pandak Chowk area of Srinagar. Two soldiers were killed in this attack. The soldiers who were martyred were Rana Mandol and Giaul Haq. After this, the BSF laid siege to the whole area and started searching for terrorists.
Two terrorists were killed in an encounter on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, security forces killed two militants in an encounter in the downtown area of Srinagar. One of them was Junaid, a terrorist of Hizbul Mujahideen. He was the son of Mohammad Ashraf Sahrai, the chief of Tehreek-i-Hurriyat, a separatist organization in Kashmir. During the operation, the terrorists threw a grenade on the security forces, in which two policemen and a CRPF jawan were injured. The security forces then blasted the house in which Junaid was hiding. Two terrorists were killed after the encounter lasted till Tuesday afternoon.
