Javra. The flock of locusts coming from Rajasthan side has stopped for the night near Aakya in Mandsaur district. Here the central party reaches and will try to kill them by spraying at night but it is in lakhs, so the remaining locust crew will fly back from 8 to 9 am. It will move towards the flow of wind and there is a possibility of entering from Manankheda in the boundary of Javara subdivision on Thursday morning. The administration is alert about this and has also alerted the farmers.
The number of locusts is so high that if they sit on crops or green trees for a while, they can destroy their leaves and fruits. Therefore it is necessary to drive them away immediately. Krishi Vigyan Kendra Incharge and Senior Scientist Dr. Sarvesh Tripathi told that the locust party does not fly at night. It flies after 8 or 9 in the morning and lasts till 6 or 7 in the evening. After this it stops where it is dark. Agriculture, KVK, Panchayat, Revenue and Police departments are all alert so that communication about their growth is maintained. The central team is spraying medicine where it stops at night, but it is not possible to kill all due to the number of people. Hence farmers should be alert. Here, SDM Rahul Dhote Tehsildar Santosh Ratnavat, SDOP Ravindra Bilwal, Ringnod Police Station Incharge Nimesh Deshmukh reached Manankheda on the information of the locust team coming near Aakya, just 10 km from Manankheda.
