Scientists at the Defense Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) said in a statement that the active substance in pesticides, such as mossy-guard (mosquito repellent), was found to have antiviral features in citriodiol when on a test surface they were exposed to viruses in liquid form Mixed with. Conditions not yet clear
However, it is not clear whether this spray will be able to make any difference, apart from frequent hand washing and using alcohol-made hand sanitizer, as well as virus prevention measures. Citriodiol eucalyptus citriodora is derived from tree leaves and twigs and is said to be a natural alternative to 'Deet', another substance used in insect killing drugs.

Two way experiment
Military experts adopted two methods for the experiment. The first approach was to assess the product's anti-virus activity when it was directly applied to the virus as a liquid. In the other way, the product was evaluated by applying it to a 'synthetic skin' made of latex. The study found that a one-minute liquid suspension test showed that if the virus was mixed into the liquid, the SARS-COV- 2 (SARS-COV-2) exerts antiviral activity against Eng-2 isolates.

The same thing came out in a study done on latex. The scientists said that they are sharing their preliminary results in the hope that more research will be done on it.
