new Delhi: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Has said that the Indian cricket team will not visit Zimbabwe for the 3-match ODI series in August. At the same time, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said on Thursday that the limited-overs series proposed with India in June has been postponed due to Corona virus.

The BCCI said in a statement, “The Indian cricket team will not tour Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in view of the dangers of the corona virus. The Indian team had to play 3 ODIs and the same number of T20 series in Sri Lanka from 24 June. At the same time, he was supposed to play a 3-match ODI series in Zimbabwe from 22 August. The BCCI had earlier issued a statement on 17 May stating that the board would organize a camp for training for its contracted players only after it was fully secured for training outside.

The SLC had said in a statement, “India's proposed visit to Sri Lanka in June will not be as per schedule. The BCCI has told Sri Lanka Cricket that due to the Kovid 19 epidemic, it is not possible to do this cricket series in the current situation, in which the three-match ODI and T20 series of the same match were to be played. The SLC had requested the BBCCI to undertake the tour on a fixed schedule. A BCCI official told IANS on May 17 that visiting Sri Lanka in June would be impossible.
