ICC World Test Championship: The four-match Test series between India and England is very special in every sense. Because from this series itself, it will be known that which team will play against New Zealand in the final match of ICC World Test Championship. Actually, the result of the ongoing test series between India and England will decide the fate of Australia apart from these two teams.

After the defeat of India in the first Test played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the race for the final of the World Test Championship has become even more interesting. After winning the Chennai Test, England has now reached 70.2 percentage points and has reached number one in the point table of the World Test Championship. At the same time, India has slipped to fourth place in the point table.

In this way India can still qualify

India may have lost the first Test against England, but it can still get the ticket for the final of the Test Championship. If India wins the ongoing four-match Test series 2–1 or 3–1 against England, it will qualify for the final.

India’s hopes will end a defeat

The thing to note is that if India loses a single match in the remaining three Tests against England, it will be out of the final race. This means that India will now have to win at least two Tests in the remaining three Tests and draw a Test.

In this way, England can get the final ticket

On the other hand, if England have to reach the final of the World Test Championship, then they will have to win the four-match Test series against India 3–0, 3–1 or 4–0. This means that England will have to win two out of the remaining three matches of the Test series against India in any case.

Australia will qualify if the series draws

Australia’s eyes are also on the series between India and England to get tickets for the final of the World Test Championship. If the four-match Test series between India and England draws 1-1 or 2-2, then Australia will reach the final of the Test Championship.
