IND vs ENG: 6 Indian cricketers, including Sanju Samson, could not even run 2 KM, failed in BCCI fitness test

new Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is famous all over the world for its fitness protocols. Once again, a fitness test of BCCI is in discussion. Before the 5-match T20 series against England, the BCCI has kept a special test of a two-kilometer race and it is coming out that 6 players including Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan have not been able to pass this test.

What is new fitness test?

The BCCI is also going to conduct a 2-km new test along with the Yo-Yo test before the limited overs series against England and the upcoming T20 world cup. There will be a 2-kilometer race in this test, which batsmen, spinners and wicketkeepers will have to complete in 8 minutes and 30 seconds. While the fast bowlers must complete this race in 8 minutes and 15 seconds.

Samson, Kishan and four players failed in the first try

A source told the Times of India that Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Nitish Rana, Rahul Tewatia, Siddharth Kaul and Jaydev Unadkat have failed in the first attempt of this test being taken by BCCI. However, this is a new way of fitness test, so players will be given another chance on a new date. If a player fails in this for the second time, then his leaf can be cut from the series against England. This test is being taken at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

Players have been out before due to not clearing the test

The BCCI’s fitness test rules are very strict. BCCI has been taking yo-yo test of players even before this. Ambati Rayudu, Sanju Samson and Mohammed Shami did not have a fitness test cleared before the limited overs series on a tour of England in 2018, after which they were dropped from the series.
