new Delhi. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has made special identification mandatory for Bharat Stage (BS) -6 fourwheeler vehicles. This new rule will come into effect from 1 October 2020.

A green strip will be put on the number plate

According to a statement released by the ministry on Saturday, a green strip will be placed above the registration details or number plate of BS-6 forewheeler. This will easily identify these vehicles. This new rule will apply to all types of fourwheelers of petrol, CNG and diesel.

New emission norms have come into force from 1 April 2020

The ministry says that from 1 April 2020, new emission norms have been made mandatory across the country. Special markings are also placed in other countries to identify such vehicles. In view of this, this new rule has also been made in India.

Green stripe will be 1 cm wide

According to the ministry, a 1-cm-wide strip will be placed above the number plate of all BS-6 forewheelers. A sticker will also be placed on this green strip to suit the fuel of the vehicle. Petrol and CNG vehicles will have a blue sticker. There will be orange color stickers on the diesel vehicles.
