new Delhi. The traders' organization All India Merchants Association (CAIT) on Friday said that they will soon launch the national e-commerce marketplace 'BharatMarket'. This platform, designed in collaboration with several technology partners, is specially designed for retail traders across the country. Many latest technologies have been used in the platform to deliver products directly from manufacturers to the consumer. Home delivery facility will also be available in it.
Target to bring 95% of retail merchants to this platform
According to CAIT, merchants from across the country will be able to participate in the e-commerce platform. CAIT Secretary-General Pravin Khandelwal said that our goal is to bring 95 per cent of the retail traders in the country to this platform, who will also be its shareholders and it will be run exclusively for traders.
Successful pilot project
It has been started by pilot project in some parts of the country, where very good response has been seen. Initially, it has been started in Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Lucknow, Kanpur and Bengaluru with some essentials. Where retail traders, distributors and consumers have received excellent responses.
Its reach in 90 cities
Khandelwal said that based on the experiences gained during the pilot project, now we have started it in 90 cities of the country within two weeks and soon it will be started in other cities of the country. The initiative has also been lauded by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for its ability to reach people in the containment zone during lockdown. The organization hopes to have more than 10 million retailers on the platform this year and will soon emerge as the world's largest and unique e-marketplace.
